It all began back in 2013 at a mutual friend’s going-away party, where Jennifer and Matthew first met. After some light conversation (and the obligatory “let’s be Facebook friends”), Jennifer tried to pursue Matthew but Matthew, after a few too many drinks, didn’t even notice!

A few months later, fate stepped back in. During a night shift, Jennifer sent Matthew a casual Facebook message: “Working hard or hardly working?” That playful line led to many late-night conversations when they both should have been working—and soon enough, to their very first coffee date at a Tim Hortons parking lot.

From that night on, everything clicked. After a year of dating, they moved into their first apartment together. They went on many trips including Cuba, Poland and Chicago and Calgary.

Then finally, after 9 years and 364 days (Matthew promised he wouldn’t make her wait a full 10 years!), he proposed to Jennifer at their favourite restaurant during an anniversary dinner.

Now, nearly 13 years later, they’ve grown a beautiful life together—including welcoming their son, Atlas, in August 2025. And at long last, they’re ready for the next adventure: finally tying the knot!
